WAXING
What is Waxing?
Waxing is the process of hair removal from the root by using a covering of a sticky substance, such as wax, to adhere to body hair, and then removing this covering and pulling out the hair from the follicle.
Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, pubic hair (called bikini waxing or intimate waxing), legs, arms, back, abdomen, chest, knuckles, and feet. There are many types of waxing suitable for removing unwanted hair.
What to expect
There are many benefits to waxing versus other forms of hair removal. It is an effective method to remove large amounts of hair at one time. It is a long-lasting method, as hair in waxed areas will not grow back for two to eight weeks.
When hair is shaved or removed by depilatory cream, the hair is removed at the surface rather than the hair root. Within a few days, the hair can reappear back at the surface. With these methods, hair tends to grow back in a rough stubble. Areas that are repeatedly waxed over long periods of time often exhibit regrowth that is softer.
Benefits of treatment include:
Waxing has many benefits, including:
Exfoliation
Waxing removes dead skin cells, which can make skin look and feel smoother and softer. This can also help skincare products penetrate deeper into the skin.
Smoother skin
Waxing removes the top layer of dead skin cells and hair, resulting in smoother, softer skin.
Finer hair and less regrowth
Waxing removes the hair bulb from below the skin's surface, so new hair bulbs grow back weaker and sometimes don't grow back at all.
Long-lasting results
Waxing removes hair from the root, so it takes longer to grow back than with other methods like shaving or depilatory creams.
Stubble-free skin
Waxing removes hair by the root, so there's no stubble left behind like with razors.
Less expensive over time
Shaving can be more expensive over time than waxing.
